Lady Katherine Classes

Our classes are designed to compliment, reinforce and build on each other. For example, in our Signature Class you will master fundamental movements used in our other classes, increase your core strength and overall flexibility - which will help you be more successful in Pole Dance and Body Booty Camp.

Body Booty Camp tones and shapes your body, increases endurance and overall body strength - important fundamentals that will help you experience more success and satisfaction from our Signature and Pole Dance Classes.

For the best results in the shortest amount of time, we encourage students to take one of each type of class per week - this eliminates any chance of boredom, lessens incidents of muscle soreness or potential overuse, and guarantees you a new perspective on life and yourself as a woman - beginning with your very first class you will embark on the wonderful experience of a make over that starts from the inside out!

Students told us to go after their ‘lunch lady arms’ and we are responding with RSA (rock star arms). This intense segment will be a part of each and every class - look out wobbler, gobbler arms- we’ve got your number!

 

Class Policies

#1) Refunds: There are no refunds.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

#2) Missed Classes:  If a student misses a class, they are encouraged to make it up - even if it’s a different type of class than the one they missed.  Students must register in advance (e-mail or phone) prior to class. There are no refunds for missed classes. NO EXCEPTIONS.    

#3) Cancelled Classes: Class cancellations will be posted on our facebook page. ()

#4) Privacy: The movement we teach is beautiful, strenuous and empowering. We ask for complete confidentiality from all of our students.  What happens in the studio stays in the studio.

#5) Eligibility: You must be 18 years of age and female to participate in our classes and workshops unless otherwise indicated by Lady Katherine.

#6) Schedule changes:  May happen due to unforeseen circumstances (we hope not but you never know!).  We will post any changes on our facebook fan page immediately and make every effort to contact those affected promptly.

#7) Late-Starters: Please note that the studio doors will be closed 5-10 minutes into class.  Individuals arriving after this are asked to kindly refrain from interrupting class in session.  We do not want anyone missing warm- up and risking injury.

FAQ

What are the benefits of taking classes at Lady Katherine vs. other fitness venues?
The classes at Lady Katherine provide all the benefits of other fitness options (improved cardio respiratory endurance, flexibility, muscular strength and endurance) delivered in an environment designed exclusively for women.  A place where women come to relax, be themselves, have fun and build relationship -  while they are getting fit.  

However, the most significant difference  in the classes that are offered at Lady Katherine are the benefits that go beyond the physical: improved confidence and self-assurance, integration of mind/body/essence - that’s why we refer to the Lady Katherine experience as a “make-over from the inside out.”

I've never taken a class like this before, what... fitness level or exercise/dance experience is required?
All of our classes are designed for all women - regardless of size, age or fitness level- we meet you where you're at.


Do I have to be strong to take pole dance classes?
I know it seems like you'd have to be super strong in your upper body, but really the classes I will be teaching initially do not require a lot of strength. The majority of your ability will lie in your confidence and desire to do well. Pole dancing requires more agility, balance and motivation than strength. But strength will come with time and practice.


Will I lose weight doing this?
YES! The vast majority of our students become strong and toned, develop better posture and flexibility - and lose weight! We recommend that students take a minimum of three classes a week - preferably one pole fitness, one signature and one pole dance - that way you are improving your cardio respiratory endurance, flexibility, and muscular strength and endurance- and of course all come with confidence building and empowerment on the side. If you want to lose weight and tone up faster - we recommend adding one more pole fitness class and another class of your choice so you're working out five times a week - that will really tone and re shape any body fast!


What if I'm shy?
We're all a little uncertain of any new situation or experience and trust me you are in the majority! About halfway through the first class, sometimes not until the end (for some students) there's something inside that 'switches', and there is less nervous laughter - instead students begin to smile more, to feel more free to express themselves - to allow themselves to let go, enjoy and have fun. I wait for that look on their faces - it is the ultimate reward!


Is there a weight restriction for the pole classes?
Is there a weight restriction for the pole classes? Women of all shapes, fitness levels and sizes take pole classes. However, the recommended capacity of the poles for spins is 225 pounds.

What should I wear to class?
Because all of our classes are fitness classes - please wear comfortable work-out/yoga type clothing. I like long pants so I can roll them up for extra knee cushion when we're doing floor work - capris are good too.

For your feet: Pole Fitness is done in tennis shoes, Pole Dance is done barefoot or heels, and our Signature Class is done barefoot, with heels at the end.



Are people allowed to view or preview classes?
Sorry - no. We want our students to feel comfortable and secure at all times.



What are class sizes?
Our studio has 15 poles and because we do not want anyone sharing a pole (you're here to work out, not wait around doggoneit!) our Pole Dance and Pole Fitness classes have a maximum student capacity of 14, Lady K Signature classes can comfortably accommodate up to 20.


How do I get started at Lady Katherine?
There are several ways to get started.  You can take classes on a drop-in basis - just make sure you register first because classes fill up fast.  You can join a session at any time too.  Classes run in sessions of 6 weeks each.  Registration begins three weeks prior to the beginning of a session - but you can start after a session is already underway, we just pro-rate the pricing. What ages can participate?
There is no maximum age but the minimum is 18 years old. For those younger in age that would like to participate, mother/daughter classes may soon be offered at Lady Katherine.
